Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to using Centreon, and I'm hoping to get some advice on setting up alerts. I manage a mix of services across several servers, and I want to set up notifications for different types of events (like high CPU, memory usage, and network issues) across all of them. I’ve read through the documentation, but I'm struggling with generative ai how to structure alerts efficiently when I have so many different conditions to monitor.

Could someone explain how you set up alerts for a large number of services without getting overwhelmed by notifications? I’m also interested in any best practices you might have for prioritizing certain alerts over others.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @vemine6628, you can manage thresholds to generate alert then notification on resource templates.

Be fore enabling notification, you can first set up thresholds, visualize alerts through “Resource Status” menu, and if you agree with these alert, then enable notifications.

Centreon also offers, via an associated license, the possibility of aggregating services between them (service mapping) to create a higher level entity and to manage the notification on it?

Moreover, Centreon have the possibility to use anomaly detection, via an associated license, for metrics based on recurring schema, to have adaptive thresholds.
