Hello,

Parentality is a good feature (avoiding alerts when the parent host is unavailable). However one drawback is having to link all of the hosts to the same poller. Which is non sense and against best practices

So we have a good feature that cannot be used. Frustration !

Please vote for the feature as it is always useful to have lesser alerts (less false positive) and to focus on the cause without any annoyance

Example : one of your gateways is down, so of course hosts behind it will not respond to Centreon’s ping checks, even if the hosts are up and running. So your monitor is all with red critical alerts, generating annoyance and pollution when you really don’t need it, operators are dealing with false positive while you can’t easily find the root cause

One good improvment is having rule to allocate poller to host.

Example: group of poller that have to manage the Host Category “Prod”.

The Centreon assossiate dynamically host to these pollers and respect parentality.

I have made a script on my side that use PROD / Acceptation Host Category tags, allocate to pollers and equalize the load of each poller with parent respect.
