In Nagios there is a option to disable service checks if host is deemed down, this functionality is missing from Centreon. In our use case this would improve poller performance by a lot as in our monitored infrastructure there can be high number of hosts down at any time, unfortunately poller is still trying to execute SNMP etc. queries which will take a long time to time out, and if you have maximum allowed service checks enabled like we do, this will cause huge latency with pollers.

Please implement “host_down_disable_service_checks” option from Nagios to Centreon.

Hi Thakala,
Thanks for this idea and for your interest in Centreon.
Indeed, it makes sense to implement "host_down_disable_service_checks" option to Centreon.

It could be interesting to implement this option, disabled by default, then activate it by default in a further major release, to let the users adjust host check periods and give us feedbacks.
What do you think about that ?

HI fmattes,

for us it would be the right way to active it by default, but as it is for all Centreon users your suggestion is the only right option to implement this.
