Hi,

It would be useful if MAP could display all hosts that belong to a selected host category (in the same style as host groups).

This would help when creating maps based on existing categories.

Thanks!

Hi @Haze

Is your goal to more easily select hosts to add to a map by filtering by host category?

Or is your goal to display all hosts (and their status) within a host category?

For the second case you can use the Dashboard functionality, add the Status grid widget and filter on the host category.

Regards

Hi,

My goal is to display all hosts (and their status) inside a MAP, similar to what a host group can do.

For each site, I already use several host groups that contain hosts based on their scope (copiers, Wi‑Fi access points, etc.). And it is not possible to create a master host group that includes the perimeter host groups.

To avoid having too many host groups, host categories seemed like a good fit.
A host category represents one of my agencies and contains all the hosts belonging to that agency.
I have 25 agencies, so 25 host categories, each with its own hosts.

This would allow me to quickly view all hosts from my 25 agencies on a MAP, along with other useful information.

Thanks :)

So you would like to have the option to place a "host category" object on a map:
