The metric values displayed on links are difficult to read when there are many of them placed close together.

Sometimes, it's hard to space out the links differently, especially when there are a lot of elements to display.
Would it be possible to add a feature that allows these values to be manually moved, so they can be made more visible and easier to read?

I confirm that it would be very nice to be able to move them, as shown in the screenshot in Superdata’s comment.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to point out that the IN-OUT text is confusing, as it refers to the primary host's metrics but is displayed on the link alongside the secondary host.

This means that the IN metric is displayed alongside the secondary host, when in fact it displays the OUT throughput of that secondary host. These texts are confusing.

It would be better to remove the "in-out" text or let people modify it, ideally using macros.

Thanks

What about giving the metrix box an angle that is the same as the link and put it over the link?

In my opinion, by default the text should remain horizontal but should be movable. But why not also add the possibility of rotating it by giving it an angle.

Thanks

Hello,

I also agree with Superdata.
It would also be helpful to have the option to increase the font size of the IN/OUT metrics, because when creating fairly large maps for a global view, the IN/OUT metrics are no longer visible due to the small font size.

Thank you in advance !

I pretty much agree with all the comments under this post.
Making the metric values movable is necessary, but it would also be useful to make them editable (font size or style, ability to make them bold, etc).
Why not use the left menu, which is already used for several related widgets settings?

Hi,

We are experiencing the same issue with the display of links metrics and other aspects of maps customization.

It would be great to be able to further customize maps (e.g., shape size, link angle, text position).

+1😁
Regards,

Hello,

First of all, I would like to know if there is any additional information or updates on this topic. What is the next step for an “Idea” ?

I’m not sure whether this reply should be posted here or if I should create a new idea, but the labels (service names) of metric links are also supposed to be movable.
However, they get reset to their default position when trying to move them and save the changes.

A support ticket was opened, and one of the contacts informed us that this functionality needs to be reviewed so that the editor can properly support it. They also advised me to open an idea on The Watch.

Since I had already opened this idea and both topics are quite similar, I thought it would be relevant to add a reply here.
Why not update the title to “Make Link Metric Values and Labels Movable”?

Regards,

Hello,

I’d like to follow up on this thread regarding the possibility of making the metric values and labels movable on the map links.
As several people mentioned earlier, this improvement would be very helpful for enhancing the readability of maps, especially when there are many overlapping links or metrics.
Previous suggestions (optional text rotation, customizable font size or style, free positioning of labels) show that there’s a real need for flexibility in how maps are displayed.

Could you let us know if this topic has been discussed or planned in the product roadmap?

Regards,
