Hello,

Currently we are able to enable or disable the checks for services attached to a host down. Unfortunately (for me), regarding notification, it’s disable by design and it’s not possible to enable it.

In my use case it’s problematic because we use notification to perfom several actions when a service went critical. Also, we don’t realy use alerts coming from hosts. We prefer use directly a service named ping.
So, currently if a host is down, it blocks all our automation because no notification will be sent. A button to enable or disbale in case of host down will be very helpful.

Thank you for considering this idea

Hi @ndubost, I try to understand you issue.

Centreon by default checks services even if host is down and notification are managed regarding statuses of services.

We added an option (Disable Service Checks When Host Down) to do not check services when host is down (from “Configuration > Pollers > Engine configuration” menu, for each poller).

If this option is disabled, notification will be sent for associated services.

Hello @lpinsivy ,

This is quite surprising as we have been told the opposite in a incident ticket we have opened, telling us that it was hard coded and couldn’t be parametered.

To be more precise, it does a check but not the usual 3 checks to get the hard status that sends a notification

Hi @mikail, I did a test with an host and an associated ping service.

Since the host status is DOWN and confirmed (Hard 3/3), Centreon Engine reschedules the next service check without checking it.
