I am more in a web configuration feature request, in order to go a step further than having to deal this action with a “old school” cron job.

Cron can be forgotten, generates no centralized output in logs.

What I’m talking about is to have this feature in centreon administration menu for exemple, and managed by the centreon core engine.

Of course states could be checked by a plugin added to pollers hosts and displayed like any other plugin.

Is that clearer ?

So you want a new feature in Centreon to export configuration automatically at a specific date and time?

What about user exporting manually monitoring configuration? You want to remove this action and keep only automatic?

Guys who need to schedule automatic generation and export because of working in a large structure, with multiple admins, and automatic workflows genarating configuration through API will be able to schedule the autogeneration to keep the configuration uptodate without having to check.

On the other hand, people that are in a small environment, or that are one and only centreon administrator may still want to use the actual manual generation and export.

What is the problem you are trying to solve with this idea?

• People who forget to export configuration after changing through UI?
• Synchronizing all configurations at once on all pollers?
• Exporting configuration after having changed it through API?
