Hello,

we prepare monitoring our VMWARE infrastructure .

This one is very large . almost 40 Vcenters with 1500 ESX .

I would like to know if our connector will survive and if you have some stress test data in return..

By the way, is there a possibility to load-balance on connectors ?

Sébastien

Hi,

We don’t have such data.

But yes, we do recommend splitting your vCenters montioring across several vmware-connector. But there’s nothing like automatic load-balancing.

Thanks Simon ,

We already preview 4 connectors … I will ask if loadbalancing solution could be operated by Netscaler

Ok, the only tradeoff to have ‘something else’ load balancing queries in front of the connector is that your will have to declare all your vCenters in each connector. Not sure it’s a good idea and might be a little bit aggressive for vCenters.

You could try a VM dedicated to vmware connector with enough memory and cpu to handle all the requests. The connector forks for each connection, so it should scale without problems if server is big enough. Give it a try.
