Hello,

Since the upgrade from 24.10 to 25.10, all ping services no longer work.

I am using the “Base-Ping-LAN” template and the “base-centreon-ping” command.

Linux ALMALINUX 9

Over SSH, all my pings work correctly. In my firewall, ICMP traffic passes correctly.

Version 25.10.4

Was there any change between 24.10 and 25.10?

How can this be resolved?

I also set up a new VM and a clean installation of Centreon 25.10, I added a host for ping and I'm having the same issue.

Depuis le passage de 24.10 à 25.10, tous les services ping ne fonctionnent plus

J’utilise le modèle “Base-Ping-LAN” et la commande “base-centreon-ping”

J’ai aussi installé une nouvelle VM et une installation propre de centreon 25.10, j’ai mis un hote en ping et j’ai aussi le même souci

 /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_icmp -H <<address IP>> -b 52
OK - <<address IP>> rta 44.422ms lost 0%|rta=44.422ms;200.000;500.000;0; pl=0%;40;80;0;100 rtmax=45.654ms;;;; rtmin=43.868ms;;;;

Can you precise what you mean by “doesn’t work” ? do you have an error on the status, is the command failing ? etc.

Also for you command, can you replace it by 

sudo -u centreon-engine /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_icmp -H <<address IP>> -b 52

As centreon runs those commands with the centreon-engine user, it is possible that there is permission issues involved.

With this command

sudo -u centreon-engine /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_icmp -H <<address IP>> -b 52

 

Result

OK - <<address IP>> rta 45.797ms lost 0%|rta=45.797ms;200.000;500.000;0; pl=0%;40;80;0;100 rtmax=46.605ms;;;; rtmin=44.193ms;;;;

ok, so it’s not a permission problem it seems, what is the behavior on centreon that you would define as “broken” ? i need more details to see what can be non functionnal.

Maybe the discussion comes down to the packet size?

/usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_icmp -help

...
 -b
    Number of icmp data bytes to send
    Packet size will be data bytes + icmp header (currently 68 + 8)
...

and the flexibility of changing that value on a template.
