Alert dependencies

Hello,

We’re facing an issue on our side with Centreon.
When a host stops responding or is powered off, we receive all alerts for every service in DOWN or UNKNOWN state, which amounts to around thirty emails per host.

I would like to ensure that if a server no longer responds to ping, only that alert is sent to the team responsible for that host, and not the 30 other emails related to services that are no longer responding.

Is there an easy mechanism to implement so that we no longer receive all service alerts when the host is not responding, and only get the notification that the host is unreachable?

I have seen the “parent-child” dependency mechanism, but it has to be configured host by host, and I would like to implement this for several hundred servers.

Thank you,

Laurent

Hi @LaurentV you can use Disable Service Checks When Host Down option in Check Options tab of Configuration > Pollers > Engine configuration menu. This will also disabled notification.

Hi @lpinsivy ,

yes, it works 😀

It’s for all the hosts on a Poller, it’s a little bit “too much” 😀 But I can live with it.
