Hi,
I’m using Monitoring Connector "Oracle Database”.
All services are OK, except both :

- Rman-Backup-Age :
Status is  “ CRITICAL: Rman 'DB FULL' backups never executed - Rman 'DB INCR' backups never executed - Rman 'ARCHIVELOG' backups never executed - Rman 'CONTROLFILE' backups never executed - Rman backups never executed.

- Rman-Backup-Problems :
OK: During the last 3 days, number of backups completed: 0, failed: 0, completed with warnings: 0, completed with errors: 0

However rman backups works perfectly (daily): incr, full, archivelog 100% guaranteed.

Our rman catalog is on an external rman catalog database and channel type is SBT.

Why the connector didn’t seen our backups ?

Thank you
Nicolas

Hi,
The problem is on all DB Oracle, with multiple version : mainly 19.10 and 19.14.
Thanks

Hello @nicosig :)

Our developers have looked into this issue and it seems that RMAN offers two modes of operation:

  • One mode where backup information are stored in the local database.
  • One mode where backup information are stored in a separate RMAN catalogue.

Currently, our plugin only supports the first local mode, and your needs seems to be more related to the second mode. This mode is possible, but it requires querying other Oracle views than those currently in use: RC_BACKUP_SET seems to be a good candidate (Backup and Recovery Reference).

Although it is not overly complicated, it is still a significant change to implement, so we suggest creating a The Watch idea for it to be voted on and prioritised.

Kind regards.
