Hi,

my postfix relay server is sending email fine via office 365.

i configured a ubuntu linux client to use this postfix relay adding below line to “/etc/postfix/main.cf”, but test emails show that they are sent to the relay, but they are not delivered to the destination email!!!

Hello @adilbouazzaoui

Are the emails actually received by the relay? It could be a network problem (centreon is not authorized, etc), or the name of the relay cannot be resolved by Centreon (DNS problem)… You can also check the relay logs.

Hi,

there is no network issue, the traffic is allowed, and when i run a test from the client i can see in our traffic monitoring that the relay received the smtp traffic from the client and that he forwarded it to microsoft

this is what i could find at the relay logs level:

it looks like the linux client is sending emails with some missed up alias or something?

Hello @adilbouazzaoui

In your logs, root@/etc/mailname looks odd. It should be in the following format: user@domain_name.

Hello @adilbouazzaoui,

I can’t really help you on that one, you alone know what the correct value is for the sender...

Hello @cg-tw

i did the 1st time but it didn’t work, that’s why i’m using an SMTP relay on this client machine.

now to get this clear:

1- do i need to configure the credentials of the account that will send emails on client machine if i’m already using a relay?

2- if no, then how can i properly configure the client machine to use the smtp relay?
