Hello,

We are using a Android TV to display the Centreon Monitor view. In Centreon version 24.04, the url parameter `min=1` is not available to display Centreon in full screen without header.

But on the AndroidTV we haven’t keyboard connected on it. And the monitor restart all sunday.

Is it possible to put again the query parameter `min=1` in the Autologin URL ?

Thx

Hi @Philippe a new feature will be available on the next major release to display Dashboards on TV.

Hi,

We have a similar problem. We use min=1 with autologin=1 to show maps in our intranet pages for users (ticket #78232).

Centreon 22.10 with MAP Legacy :

=> users don’t see centreon menu bars

Centreon 24.04 with MAP Engine :

=> users see centreon menu bars and they can use Centreon. The access rights still work. Phew.

It's not an improvement we want, just the features we had before. It’s an important regression for us.

Hello,

Even if convenient, this feaure was problematic regarding security of Centreon product.

As Laurent said, this feature will be replaced by the ability to declare dashboard playlists as public.

As a note, MAP will not be managed in first version but in one of the next minor verion of 24.10.

Stay tuned,

Nils

Hello Nils,

Thank you for your detailed response.

I understand that security is a priority, but I would like to clarify something. The min=1 query parameter was widely used by many of our clients to optimize their use of Centreon on display monitors.

Could you explain why displaying the interface without headers via this parameter is considered a security issue?

Furthermore, we usually create a dedicated ACL for the user who displays Centreon on a monitor, to restrict the scope of their actions. Doesn’t this mitigate the potential security risks associated with using min=1?

Thx,
Philippe CANDIDO

Hi,

I agree with Philippe. We use dedicated ACLs. I also have the same question about the min option.

Regards

HI, I think there was a misunderstanding between autologin and fullscreen.

This min=1 option was not available on all pages and we preferred to integrate another system that works on the entire application to be used on a desktop.

For TV screens, we are finalizing Dashboards playlists to meet this need.

Hello @Laurent ,

I completely agree with you that adding new features, like the Dashboard playlists, is a great improvement and I’m glad to see Centreon evolving.

However, I’m wondering why functionalities like autologin and the min=1 parameter for fullscreen mode were deprecated, especially when they were widely used by many of our users.

Requiring the use of the "F" key to switch to fullscreen can be counterproductive for us, as we primarily use monitors or Android TVs without keyboards.

I understand it’s a small detail, but it has a significant impact on the user experience for many of my clients.

Best regards,

Hi @Philippe

I understand your point of view but Centreon needs to evolve and old features need to be reviewed/restructured or removed to allow us to move forward and add other features.

Dashboards playlists will allow you to simply open a browser on a dedicated URL to display a full-screen rotation of dashboards without any additional steps.

Regards

Hi,

Will we have to announce to our users that we will no longer be able to display the availability of their favorite applications on pages of our intranet ? MAP legacy with autologin and min options until 22.10 was great for that…

Regards

Hello @cb58 ,

Could you please provide a bit more details about what you think you won’t be able to do with public dashboard?

Best,

Hi @Nils ,

If you haven’t already, you should look at my first message.

For non-IT users (ticket #78232) :

I don't want users to have access to the Centreon menu bars.

I just want to embded maps into html pages without unnecessary elements like :

For IT users :

Like Philippe, we use display screens with a browser that automatically launches a URL with autologin. Autologin isn’t the best for security but it’s better than public sharing. I don’t want to share with everyone (non-IT users) what is displayed on the screens of the IT management.

For a few days now, I have been testing dashboards (24.04.07). It’s beautiful and it’s definitely the future. However, dashboards are far from ready to replace custom views. Dashboard widgets are still buggy and incomplete. Some widgets in custom views are missing in dashboard. In short, I can't yet reproduce my custom views with dashboards. I hope dashboards 24.10 will be better.

We agree that evolving Centreon is important. But it’s also important to ensure that a feature can be replaced by another before removing it.

Hi @cb58 ,

Thanks a lot for your detailed feedback.

I will let @rbignotti who is following those topics closely come back to you.

Best,

Nils

Hi @cb58 and @Philippe,

To reassure you: new dashboards playlist functionality allows you to display dashboards on any unauthenticated device (TV...), using links containing tokens in their URLs. That makes it complex for users to access them without knowing the URLs first.

These “public” playlists display in full screen, without any user action button or Centreon layouts (top and left menus are removed).

I hope this will help you achieve your goal.

Best,

Romain
