Submiting result to a service

Hi,

To submit a result to a service with the HTTP REST API, as described in https://docs-api.centreon.com/api/centreon-web/22.10/#tag/Submit/paths/~1monitoring~1hosts~1%7Bhost_id%7D~1services~1%7Bservice_id%7D~1submit/post

does the service have to be a passive service? Or is it possible to submit a result for an active service?

Is the REST API the preferred way of doing that? Or NSCP still is the more obvious choice? Is this part of the REST API considered stable? In 22.10? In 23.10?
