I am quite astonished; it is 2024 and you are still developing new stuff in perl?

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in Centreon.

The Agent is not developed in PERL, and is able to run both PERL plugins, and native checks, which are integrated in the agent executable.
We maintain and enrich a huge Monitoring Connectors catalog, which is based, indeed, on PERL plugins plugins.

Can you explain the problems you are experiencing with PERL ?
What would you suggest as a top of the notch tech for plugins development ?

Thanks for your feedback

Hello,

As I’ve seen the presentation of the CMA the other day in the event in Geneva, I was quite concerned that the certificate part of the connector is not managed by Centreon Central. Actually, it implies that you have to generate and follow the livecycle of the certificate to another tool, which can be tricky to automatize.

Why not giving the role of a sub-CA to Centreon Central, in order to produce and manage certificate within all agent with a lot more security and in an automated way?

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback.

We are working on an enhancement/automation for this topic.
