Question

Account admin for centreon

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

Hello,

I am installing Centreon for supervision, but the default login admin/Centreon!123 is not working on the web interface. How can I resolve this issue?

Thank you!

Hello Berthold.

What is the version that you installed and what kind of installation process did you follow ?

Within the standard web installation process, you should have defined a password for the administrator account.

Installation Web | Centreon Documentation

Please give us more information so we can help you.

I installed the Centreon VM version 24.10.1 on VMware. But after setting the server time zone, updating the database partitions, and restarting the Centreon services, when I access the web interface via http://<IP_of_Centreon>/centreon,I'm prompted for the alias and password, but the admin/Centreon!123 credentials don't work.

Indeed. Can you try to run the next command from the server through SSH ?

centreon -u 'login' -p 'password' -a POLLERLIST

This will try to list the pollers configured in the centreon with the login and password.

If this works, then there is something internally breaking, if it doesn’t, then the password is indeed wrong and we would need to let someone from the centreon team figure this out.

can you try with a lowercase p, else the command won’t take your password argument

So the password is definitly working internally, but for some reason the web interface is failing to let you in.
Maybe check the various log file present in `/var/log/centreon` to see if any major issue is present when you try to login

perfect. I don’t know if the forum has a “solved” option, but if it does, please mark it as it 😀

Actually, after typing the command: Centreon -u 'admin' -p 'Centreon!123' -a POLLERLIST on the server, I tried connecting again on the web interface, and it worked.

Now I want to monitor a Windows server with Centreon using WS-man, but I can't find it in the list of temples in services. Please, how can I do this?

That’s for another topic, i would close this thread first and see within a new post.
But i’ll add this here for you.

First if you are monitoring a small group of hosts or are just having fun, see if you can activate a IT-100 license so you could make use of plugin packs

https://docs.centreon.com/docs/monitoring/pluginpacks/

Else, either check what is available within the https://github.com/centreon/centreon-plugins/ project for already centreon/nagios compatible scripts to use in centreon, or make use of nsclient++ https://nsclient.org/ to monitor your windows.

if you really need to make use of WS-man, you’ll have to create a custom script, but in general and especially if you just begin with centreon, check on the docs for the various use cases.

https://docs.centreon.com/fr/docs/getting-started/monitor-windows-server-with-snmp/
