VMWare 8 connector : First stone

Hello everyone, As part of our project to update our dedicated VMware connectors, we are deploying the foundation of the VMware 8 ESX monitoring connector via REST API this month. This connector is a lightweight version, as it only includes CPU, memory, power and host discovery modes. We have already planned to enhance this connector in the coming months with new modes. It is marked as experimental because, at this stage, we still need to verify its functionality with numerous metrics (as may be the case in certain production environments). Feel free to share your feedback on this and more generally on this connector here. We will keep you informed of progress on this subject.

About Linux SNMP version 3

Dear Watchers,It had been asked for a while, we released it last December: a SNMP version 3 template is provided for Linux in our Monitoring Connectors. The documentation can be found there.I invite you to tell us here as a reply to this post, if you have feedback to give us about it.Does it fit your needs? Is it easy enough to use? Is the documentation clear?Any feedback will be great!Once we judge that the template is satisfying enough given your feedback, we’ll merge it into the Linux SNMP monitoring connector and apply the same method with other connectors.

SNClient+ : short review

Hello,I tried SNclient+ and I will share what I found with this short review.My thirst thought is that SNClient+ is mainly for Windows host.s Why ? Because I failed to installed it from Debian 5 to Debian 11 included. The Debian packages are broken on all theses releases, you can’t install it, it will throw an error.The answer from the team was if it’s not working you can try to recompile it from sources.It more sunny on the RedHat side because the RPM is valid (and tested) on RedHat 7 and 9 (I didn't test it on RH8).Also, only a unit for Systemd is included, no Init script.On the Windows side, it’s unclear on which version we could run it.I successfully run it on Windows 2019 but the SNClient+ team don’t give a list of supported OS :https://github.com/ConSol-Monitoring/snclient/issues/48 I tried some check with «check_nrpe» as I’m used to with NSClient++.Some are identical, like theses :$ /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H 10.128.10.7 -c check_drivesize -a Drive=C: ShowAll MinWar

Retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams

Hello everyone,Some of you have already seen the information and have already passed it on to us (thanks again for your vigilance and your feedback). Microsoft made this announcement at the beginning of July:Starting August 15th, 2024 we will be removing the Office 365 connectors feature from Microsoft Teams. We recommend Power Automate workflows as the solution to relay information into and out of Teams in a scalable, flexible, and secure way.We will gradually roll out this change in waves:Wave 1 – effective August 15th, 2024: All new Connector creation will be blocked within all clouds Wave 2 – effective October 1st, 2024: All connectors within all clouds will stop working How will it work on the Centreon side?We have started to address this change and hope to quickly have an updated notification script in beta for users who would be interested in helping us validate it. What Monitoring Connectors need a SNMP version 3 template?

Dear Watchers,As I said here, we experimented a new SNMP version 3 template for Linux.We are planning to add similar SNMP version 3 templates to other monitoring connectors to make it easier to use SNMP v3 (I agree it's not ideal to use the $_SERVICEEXTRAOPTION$ macro for that) in more contexts.What I'm proposing you here is to answer to my post by giving:The name of the monitoring connector or the host template you'd like to see support SNMP v3 macros. The desired security levels (noAuthNoPriv, authNoPriv, authPriv).Then we'll prioritize the posts that will receive the highest number of "thumbs up" to deliver new templates in the monitoring connectors.Can’t wait for your suggestions!PS: If what you want is a template that do not exist yet as a monitoring connector, then please use the ideas section!PPS: Please post only one suggestion per post 🙏🏻

How to monitor disk status on a Qnap NAS

Hello,For the past few days, I've been looking into using Centreon to monitor my IT infrastructure.I installed Centreon 24.10.7 on a VM, then a few hosts and services.My Windows servers are being monitored, butI'm struggling with how to view the status of the disks in a Qnap NAS.I'm monitoring the volumes, but I haven't figured out where to tell Centreon how to check the NAS disks to be notified if they're faulty.Thank you for your help.Eric

Hello,My cisco C3850 switches are attached to the Net-Cisco-Standard-Environment-SNMP-custom model.Centreon display these WARNING for some switches:Temp Inlet Sensor 0/1012' is 29 C Temp Inlet Sensor 0/1012' is 30 CTemp Inlet Sensor 0/3012' is 31 CTemp Inlet Sensor 0/1012' is 20 C Temp Inlet Sensor 0/3012' is 31 CRegarding the temperatur, the color should be green and not orange. How to solve it please?Maybe I have to exclude the Temp Inlet Sensor filtering it  in EXTRAOPTIONS of the Net-Cisco-Standard-Environment-SNMP-custom model but I don’t know the syntax.Hare are the current content of the EXTRAOPTIONS:--verbose  --filter-perfdata='^(sensor\.(celsius_|rpm_)|temp_)' Thank fo your help. Regards

Purge RRD File

Hi,Some of my rrd's have obsolete entries and this affects the visibility of the graph.Example with load: a metric load_192.168.1.1The ip has changed, so I have this metric that I don't need anymore.How can I MASSIVELY purge all rrd entries that haven't been updated in a certain time?Thanks

Trying to install nagios plugins from old github repo

Hello, so I was configuring a new centreon solution manually and in a command check called: OS-Linux-SNMP-Traffic-If-SpeedI found the following command:$USER1/$/check_centreon_snmp_traffic -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -S --snmp-version='$_HOSTSNMPVERSION$' $_HOSTSNMPTRAFFICEXTRAOPTIONS$ -i '$_SERVICEINTERFACENAME$' -n -w '$_SERVICEWARNING$' -c '$_SERVICECRITICAL$' $_SERVICEEXTRAOPTIONS$however, I didn’t know where to find “check_centreon_snmp_traffic” file so I’ve looked online and found this github repo:centreon-plugins/src/check_centreon_snmp_traffic at 7bd0a4bd38bb7f9ce7be15b1a0efd045245b4a84 · centreon/centreon-plugins · GitHub And it contains the file, so I’ve followed the insctructions on the read me file, aka:- just run install.sh in src/ directory- don't directly copy plugins in Nagios plugins directoryand I did just that, I downloaded the whole directory, and I tried running the ./install.sh file, however I got this error:I’m guessing ebcause the “functions” dir doesn’t exist but I’m not

bonjour,j’ai terminé de configuré un collecteur et serveur central dans ma société sur 2 vm hyper v. elles communiquent correctement, j’ai installé dans une autre société un collecteur sur une vm en hyper v.vu qu’ils ne sont pas du tout dans le même réseau. quelle manipulation dois je effectuer pour qu’ils puissent communiquer ensemble. les deux sociétés ont un parefeu watchguard et j’ai ouvert les ports nécessaires. d’avance merci

Report not sent even if test ok

goodmorning,under report->mbi->general options->notification options we have configured our local postfix and with test button is sending test mail correctly.under publication rules we have configured a new rule with the same behavior to automatically send us a weekyl report and test button is sending test mail correctlyunder jobs we have created a new jobs with publication rule configured before and administration notification enabled, but in this case nothing is sent through mail nor postfix logs something. seems that at the end of the report creation nothing is called to send a mail.  could someone help ?thanks

Memory and CPU usage of a Cisco CBS350

Hi everyone,I’m encountering an error with the centreon_cisco plugin while trying to monitor memory usage on a Cisco CBS350 switch (firmware version 3.4.0.17): UNKNOWN: Cannot find memory informationsHas anyone experienced this issue before? If so, are there known workarounds to retrieve memory metrics?Details: The plugin fails to fetch memory data via SNMP. A custom script workaround might require privilege level 15 (full admin access), which is restrictive. Questions: Is there a specific OID for memory monitoring on CBS350 switches running firmware 3.4.0.17? Are there alternative methods to monitor memory without requiring privilege level 15? Any insights, scripts, or configuration tips would be greatly appreciated!Thanks

Monitor web page return code

Hi,I am trying to add a check on a web page to ensure it is up and running. I tried with the HTTP plugin with the HTTP-Response-Time service template. By default it will fail only if the web server is not responding but it will be OK even with a 404 error for exemple. So I guess I have to use the option --critical-status to check that return code is 200. This gave me the following command/usr/lib/centreon/plugins//centreon_protocol_http.pl--plugin=apps::protocols::http::plugin--mode=response--hostname=myhostname--proto='https'--port='443'--urlpath=''--warning=''--critical=''--http-peer-addr='my_web_page_url'--critical-status='%{http_code} != 200'However when the web page URL returns a status different from 200 the test is still OK.I guess I should use a different syntax for the --critical-status parameter? But all the exemples I found refers to this syntax.I might have to use a different plugin or template to do what I seek? But I could not find which one then.Your help or comments are

Bonjour à TOUS.Nous avons besoin de votre aide et de votre expertise.Nous avons pour projet de rapprocher plusieurs serveurs centreon afin de regrouper les informations.Après plusieurs tentatives infructueuses, je n’arrive qu’a exporter les données de mon centreon A vers mon centreon B ou inversement mais les données qui sont exporter ne sont plus accessible sur le centreon initiale. UNKNOWN: Can't call method "add_options" on an undefined value when using HDS CSU REST plugin

Hello,I'm running Centreon and trying to use the plugin hardware::hds::csu::rest::plugin  (internally developed but issue is not related to the plugin) to monitor an HDS storage system via REST. However, I'm getting the following error when executing the plugin manually:UNKNOWN: Can't call method "add_options" on an undefined value at /usr/lib/centreon/plugins/centreon-plugins/src/centreon/plugins/http.pm line 32.Here's the command I'm running:perl /usr/lib/centreon/plugins/centreon-plugins/src/centreon_plugins.pl \ --plugin=hardware::hds::csu::rest::plugin \ --mode=alerts \ --custommode=api \ --hostname=xxxxxx \ --username='localhost\xxxxx' \ --password='xxxx' \ --csuid='4c4c4544-0046-4210-8033-b8c04f335732' \ --ssl-opt='SSL_verify_mode => SSL_VERIFY_NONE'Additional notes: All required Perl packages (e.g. perl-libwww-perl, perl-LWP-Protocol-https, etc.) are installed. Centreon plugin fails with 'Can't locate ZMQ/LibZMQ4.pm' despite zeromq installed – conflict with system packages

Hi all,I'm trying to use the Centreon plugin for VMware (apps::vmware::connector::plugin) on a poller running RHEL 9 / AlmaLinux 9. The plugin fails with the following error: UNKNOWN: Cannot load module --custommode. Can't locate ZMQ/LibZMQ4.pm in @INC (you may need to install the ZMQ::LibZMQ4 module) (@INC contains: /usr/lib/centreon/plugins/centreon-plugins/src ...) I installed zeromq and zeromq-devel from the default system repo, which provides version 4.3.4. However, ZMQ::LibZMQ4 requires libzmq headers to compile, and Centreon’s own repo (centreon-24.10-stable) provides zeromq-devel-4.3.5, which conflicts with the system-installed version: Error: Problem: package zeromq-devel-4.3.5-1.el9.x86_64 from centreon-24.10-stable requires libzmq5 = 4.3.5-1.el9, but none of the providers can be installed - libzmq5-4.3.5 conflicts with zeromq 4.3.4 from @System Since Gorgoned is already running using the system version of zeromq, I don't want to risk breaking it by replacing it.I’m not sure

Backbox Plugin Issue

Hello, I have an issue with Backbox Plugin and I don’t know if someone experienced the same.For “Backup” mode, all is ok, So API Token is validated :-)But for “Device-Backup” and “ConfigStatus” modes, I have a “404 not found” issue. In command Line, for “Device-Backup”, I thnik there is an issue related to urls in plugin.It does a GET on 2api/devices” and give a result:But just after, try to join “/rest/data/token/api/devices/dynamic”and this 2 times… I don’t think “Dynamic” exists.Maybe someone experienced this??? Regards, Laurent

Gorgone configuration file : Error when connecting to the Gorgone server

Hello everyone I had deployed a machine as a poller and connected it to centreon, then later i exported it to a different network and wanted to attach it to a different centreon server, however the command “/usr/share/centreon/bin/registerServerTopology.sh -u admin -t poller -h 192.168.0.1 -n poller-1’ was run succesfully and I could see the poller in the list when I went to add it, however when It came to the gorgoned file I click to copy the contents and I see the error above, I’m unsure what I’m supposed to do, I deleted the old gorgoned file and restarted the service on both the central and the poller, and redeployed the poller and added it again, still same issue, I’m unsure what I should do, I also deleted the log files and the key files: rm -rf /var/lib/centreon-gorgone/.keysrm -rf /var/log/centreon-gorgone/*
