About Linux SNMP version 3

Dear Watchers,It had been asked for a while, we released it last December: a SNMP version 3 template is provided for Linux in our Monitoring Connectors. The documentation can be found there.I invite you to tell us here as a reply to this post, if you have feedback to give us about it.Does it fit your needs? Is it easy enough to use? Is the documentation clear?Any feedback will be great!Once we judge that the template is satisfying enough given your feedback, we’ll merge it into the Linux SNMP monitoring connector and apply the same method with other connectors.

SNClient+ : short review

Hello,I tried SNclient+ and I will share what I found with this short review.My thirst thought is that SNClient+ is mainly for Windows host.s Why ? Because I failed to installed it from Debian 5 to Debian 11 included. The Debian packages are broken on all theses releases, you can’t install it, it will throw an error.The answer from the team was if it’s not working you can try to recompile it from sources.It more sunny on the RedHat side because the RPM is valid (and tested) on RedHat 7 and 9 (I didn't test it on RH8).Also, only a unit for Systemd is included, no Init script.On the Windows side, it’s unclear on which version we could run it.I successfully run it on Windows 2019 but the SNClient+ team don’t give a list of supported OS :https://github.com/ConSol-Monitoring/snclient/issues/48 I tried some check with «check_nrpe» as I’m used to with NSClient++.Some are identical, like theses :$ /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H 10.128.10.7 -c check_drivesize -a Drive=C: ShowAll MinWar

Retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams

Hello everyone,Some of you have already seen the information and have already passed it on to us (thanks again for your vigilance and your feedback). Microsoft made this announcement at the beginning of July:Starting August 15th, 2024 we will be removing the Office 365 connectors feature from Microsoft Teams. We recommend Power Automate workflows as the solution to relay information into and out of Teams in a scalable, flexible, and secure way.We will gradually roll out this change in waves:Wave 1 – effective August 15th, 2024: All new Connector creation will be blocked within all clouds Wave 2 – effective October 1st, 2024: All connectors within all clouds will stop working How will it work on the Centreon side?We have started to address this change and hope to quickly have an updated notification script in beta for users who would be interested in helping us validate it. What Monitoring Connectors need a SNMP version 3 template?

Dear Watchers,As I said here, we experimented a new SNMP version 3 template for Linux.We are planning to add similar SNMP version 3 templates to other monitoring connectors to make it easier to use SNMP v3 (I agree it's not ideal to use the $_SERVICEEXTRAOPTION$ macro for that) in more contexts.What I'm proposing you here is to answer to my post by giving:The name of the monitoring connector or the host template you'd like to see support SNMP v3 macros. The desired security levels (noAuthNoPriv, authNoPriv, authPriv).Then we'll prioritize the posts that will receive the highest number of "thumbs up" to deliver new templates in the monitoring connectors.Can’t wait for your suggestions!PS: If what you want is a template that do not exist yet as a monitoring connector, then please use the ideas section!PPS: Please post only one suggestion per post 🙏🏻

Hi, I want have confirmation about centreon plugin using sysdba connection. Is it possible to use sysdba connection to remote server or only for local server? The plugin centreon tell only local server so I ask the question maybe it exist a possibility to make connection to sysdba user for remote server Cordialy,

centreon-plugin installation Vmware2-Esx-Wsman for Centreon 23.04 on Alma 9

Hi,I am currently facing this problem while preparing my new centreon.I have libwsman1 23.el9 installed. I have tried to manually install libwsman1 22.el9 and then I can install the plugin but after this it is not possible to perform a “yum update”. Have some of you experienced the same and know how to fix it?  Hopefully someone can help.tp

How to monitor reboot pending of Linux Server ?

Hi, I’m asking a question : There is a simple method to monitor reboot pending of a Linux Server ? Because there are a few methods that’s I read, but don’t know if it’s the right method to do it :Script “check file exist” NRPE4 ?? (I think there is a service to do that) Create a Systemd service and monitor the service (the worse method) For monitor if the Linux server need a reboot there is a way that I learn ; if the server is waiting for a reboot to applied updates, an empty file will be created at :/var/run/reboot-requiredSo we just need to verify if the file exist or not, no ? So that’s why I’m asking, it is the right way to do that or not ? Sorry for my bad english, i’m french.

Log Retention

Hello, using the Log Retention with a value 365 or even 31 the Cronjob /usr/share/centreon/cron/centstorage_purge.php doesn’t clean (all) old comments.I’ve got comments from 2017.  Responsible SQL Query to cleanup:DELETE FROM comments WHERE (deletion_time is not null and deletion_time ' . '< __RETENTION__) OR (expire_time < __RETENTION__ AND expire_time <> 0)Value for __RETENTION__ is the value from the config, in my case 365. The table field expire_time is always 0, so the second part of the query is never matching.The field deletion_time is on many entrys NULL (currently 100174 entrys) and on 3287090 entrys not null.  I’m not sure about the fields deletion_time and expire_time what are they for. But comments from 2017 shouldn’t be there in Year 2025 with retention period of 365 days.  Manually checking the filter:SELECT * FROM centreon_storage.comments WHERE (deletion_time is not null and deletion_time < 1708297200 ) OR (expire_time < 1708297200 AND expi

Ubuntu memory not working

I’ve added several Ubuntu servers to my Centreon and one of them works but others don’t. The ones that don’t are running older versions of Ubuntu. They all are using the rule: Any Ideas?

Hello,I’m trying to monitor PosgreSQL autovacuums per 1 or 5 minutes to get a graph, without alerting (without thresholds).I already have the request to get a number (from DB start I guess) with “--mode=sql” :```/usr/lib/centreon/plugins/centreon_postgresql.pl --plugin=database::postgres::plugin --mode=sql --host=HOSTNAME --username='monitoring' --password='secret' --port='5432' --database='dbname' --sql-statement="SELECT SUM(autovacuum_count) AS total_autovacuum FROM pg_stat_all_tables"OK: SQL statement result : 113703. | 'value'=113703;;;; 'sqlrequest.execution.time.seconds'=0.008s;;;0;```Or with “--mode=collection” too with a custom JSON file. I know this mode have a retention mode in statefile but I don’t know how to use it to get previous value to subtract it to current value to have a ratio from last check. How can I do that? Maybe I don’t use the right check and a better way exists?

filter-ip-src usage to limit to known IPs, unable to understand how regex works

Hello, I’m trying to use centreon plugins to match one connection on local port 4000 from one known IP address. For this, I need to use “filter-ip” but I cannot manage to get it work. I use the following command: centreon_plugins.pl --plugin os::linux::snmp::plugin --mode tcpcon --hostname host --snmp-version 2 --snmp-community public --service='MyService,,established,4000,,,,,1:1 This one works, it returns one established connection:OK: Service 'LMyService' connections: 1 - Total connections: 8 Then I tried to add an IP destination filter to only match my IP address. If I understand correctly, it an inverted filter to exclude everything that is not my IP address.For the record, when using --debug, I can see the connection I’m trying to match:.1.3.6.1.2.1.6.19.1.7.2.16.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.255.255.10.x.x.x.4000.2.16.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.255.255.10.y.y.y.54706 = 5  < this is 10.y.y.y So I just tried to modify the command like this:centreon_plugins.pl --plugin os::linux::snmp::plugin --

IBM MQ MQ MQI requires sudo

I’m trying to use the IBM MQ MQI plugin. When I run the command to check the queue-manager on the poller by hand, it returns the expected output. When I do the same thing with the ‘centreon-engine’ user, I’m greeted by sudo’s prompt for a password.Is this known behaviour? What sudo privs are needed for the command to work?

centreon_vmware.log file size increasing and no rotatelog

Hellosince december update (i’m on 23.10) the centreon_vmware connector has changed to the new format with the json config filenow I’m having some issue with space usage on the pollers because of a log file for that vmware connector. there is no log level settings or rotation on the file /var/log/centreon/centreon_vmware.log and this file is filling the disk space. (on a poller that file was consumming more than 6GB, I had to delete it) is possible to add a rotate log config in a future update of the connector?or is there a way to reduce verbosity (I see a lot of “info” log level with json verbosity in that log file)

windows snmp plugin user

Good morning, I have a question to submit to the community, is it possible to obtain the name of the account used for starting a specific Windows service via the centreon_windows_snmp.pl plugin? Our idea would be to control a particular service and for which if the service starts with account y instead of x, an alert is displayed in the supervision. Thanks for your help.
