About Linux SNMP version 3

Dear Watchers,It had been asked for a while, we released it last December: a SNMP version 3 template is provided for Linux in our Monitoring Connectors. The documentation can be found there.I invite you to tell us here as a reply to this post, if you have feedback to give us about it.Does it fit your needs? Is it easy enough to use? Is the documentation clear?Any feedback will be great!Once we judge that the template is satisfying enough given your feedback, we’ll merge it into the Linux SNMP monitoring connector and apply the same method with other connectors.

Legacy MAP Retirement [Updated 09/30/24]

SNClient+ : short review

Hello,I tried SNclient+ and I will share what I found with this short review.My thirst thought is that SNClient+ is mainly for Windows host.s Why ? Because I failed to installed it from Debian 5 to Debian 11 included. The Debian packages are broken on all theses releases, you can’t install it, it will throw an error.The answer from the team was if it’s not working you can try to recompile it from sources.It more sunny on the RedHat side because the RPM is valid (and tested) on RedHat 7 and 9 (I didn't test it on RH8).Also, only a unit for Systemd is included, no Init script.On the Windows side, it’s unclear on which version we could run it.I successfully run it on Windows 2019 but the SNClient+ team don’t give a list of supported OS :https://github.com/ConSol-Monitoring/snclient/issues/48 I tried some check with «check_nrpe» as I’m used to with NSClient++.Some are identical, like theses :$ /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H 10.128.10.7 -c check_drivesize -a Drive=C: ShowAll MinWar

Retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams

Hello everyone,Some of you have already seen the information and have already passed it on to us (thanks again for your vigilance and your feedback). Microsoft made this announcement at the beginning of July:Starting August 15th, 2024 we will be removing the Office 365 connectors feature from Microsoft Teams. What Monitoring Connectors need a SNMP version 3 template?

Dear Watchers,As I said here, we experimented a new SNMP version 3 template for Linux.We are planning to add similar SNMP version 3 templates to other monitoring connectors to make it easier to use SNMP v3 (I agree it's not ideal to use the $_SERVICEEXTRAOPTION$ macro for that) in more contexts.What I'm proposing you here is to answer to my post by giving:The name of the monitoring connector or the host template you'd like to see support SNMP v3 macros. The desired security levels (noAuthNoPriv, authNoPriv, authPriv).Then we'll prioritize the posts that will receive the highest number of "thumbs up" to deliver new templates in the monitoring connectors.Can’t wait for your suggestions!PS: If what you want is a template that do not exist yet as a monitoring connector, then please use the ideas section!PPS: Please post only one suggestion per post 🙏🏻

[UPDATED] Deprecated views will be retired [in an upcoming] major versionProduct updates

[UPDATE AS OF 02/12/2024]As we are progressing towards next major release and still receiving feedback for required features in Resource Status we have decided to take a step back and NOT retire deprecated views in the Spring 24 version.We are planning the Fall version and will prioritize those enhancements in order to be in a position to then retire those views.Stay tuned and continue sending your valuable feedback![END OF UPDATE] It had been announced a long time ago that the plan was to remove the legacy host and services views as those are now replaced with Resource Status. Important change on 21.10 package repository

As you probably already know, Centreon 21.10 is not a supported version anymore (more information here).As a consequence, the RPM package repository for this version has been archived: it moved from https://packages.centreon.com/rpm-standard/21.10 to https://archives.centreon.com/standard/21.10.If your platform is still running 21.10 and you need to update it, please update your YUM or DNF repository configuration to handle this change.

Vulnerabilities in Curl CVE-2023-38545 CVE-2023-38546

As you might have heard, 2 vulnerabilities were disclosed on Curl last week.These issues have been undisclosed as CVE-2023-38545 and CVE-2023-38546.These vulnerabilities might have impacts on specific use cases, with specific misconfiguration.Default installation and default use cases should not be impacted.However, we recommend that you update your local package (on pollers and centrals) up to versions 7.69.x or 8.4, depending on your installation.

Dés-enregister un poller suite à erreur sur le nom

Salut,J’ai enregistré un poller sur un cenral mais je mes suis trompé dans le nom que je devais lui donner. Si je tente de refaire la manipulation avec le bon nom il me dit qu’un poller avec cette IP est déjà connu et il semblerait quðil n’y ai pas d’option pour annuler le premier enregistrement.Je commençais à regarder en BDD voir si et où je pouvais agir mais je ne voudrais pas tout péter.Il y a un moyen moins bricolage  pour faire ça ?  Et s’il faut éditer directement en base : c’est quelle(s) table(s) précisément ?EN: How do I revert the action of adding a poller via the script registerServerTopology.sh? So I would be able to add the same one again but with with the right name.

Remove hosts from probe that does not exist

Hi,I have an issue - poller went down permanently before I was able to remove them from monitoring. So now they are in the main view all the time. How do I remove them? I found a topic: but there is no good explanation how to remove them from monitoring properly, without causing any new issues after deleting hosts from SQL?

Probem with Alert Count Display on Centreon Dashboard

Can't export poller after 'PATCH' a host

Hi everyone, I’m running 24.04, and try to use the APIv2 to maintain some HostGroup to Host  by script.I can do what I want, but maybe I have a ‘bug’:I use a command method ‘PATCH’ to update a single Host configuration, by modifying only the ‘groups’ item (by passing an array of integer (of HostGroup ID)).https://docs-api.centreon.com/api/centreon-web/24.10/#tag/Host/paths/~1configuration~1hosts~1%7Bhost_id%7D/patchThat work like a charm BUT, after doing that, I can’t export poller configuration anymore.It seems like this command add a ‘null’ value to Host Categories:After that if I go to the host configuration, clic the cross to ‘delete’ host category (but in fact, there is none), and save. Then I can export poller configuration again.Does someone have a way to update only ‘groups’ for a ‘host’ ?

centreon_vmware.log file size increasing and no rotatelog

Hellosince december update (i’m on 23.10) the centreon_vmware connector has changed to the new format with the json config filenow I’m having some issue with space usage on the pollers because of a log file for that vmware connector. there is no log level settings or rotation on the file /var/log/centreon/centreon_vmware.log and this file is filling the disk space. (on a poller that file was consumming more than 6GB, I had to delete it) is possible to add a rotate log config in a future update of the connector?or is there a way to reduce verbosity (I see a lot of “info” log level with json verbosity in that log file)

Bonjour,Je suis en train de créer un Poller, en suivant cette doc : À partir des paquets | Centreon Documentation et je dois maintenant enregistrer le Poller sur le Remote Server. Je suis donc à l'étape 3. Ainsi, après renseigné la commande "/usr/share/centreon/bin/registerServerTopology.sh -u admin -t poller -h X.X.X.X -n HOSTNAMEduPOLLER" j'ai l'erreur suivante: "date - ERROR - http://X.X.X.X:80 {"message":API calling the Central returned a Client exception : HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized returned for \"monURL/centreon/api/v23.04/login\"."}Je comprends qu'il y a un problème de droits entre le RS et le Central mais je ne sais pas comment corriger. Merci par avance pour votre aide. Cordialement.

Gaps in graph with no particular pattern

Hi, I am seeing gaps in my performance graphs. The gaps seem to be completely random and appear at different times for services on the same hosts or for other hosts/services. Could someone explain what could be the issue?

How to use Centreon Linux SSH plugin to execute a shell script on a remote server

Hi,I added centreon_linux_ssh plugin to be able to execute some shell scripts on remote servers. I generated public/private ssh keys.I copied the public key on my remote server.I tested connection to the remote server without password and it’s works fine. But how to use macros to execute my script ? My script is based on remote server: Remote server IP: 10.200.10.1 Path of the script: /usr/share/snmp/my-scripts/vmpro.sh The script return the status of a running server (OK, CRITICAL or UNKNOWN. Here is my service created:  Thank you for help
