hello

I’m assuming you want to use the native AutoDiscover functionnality from centreon

autodiscovery is an paying extension, or at least a “licensed” (menu adminstration / extension).

do you have this extenstion listed and installed ?

autodiscover comes with plugin pack, and uses the “host template” in the autodiscovery rule ( menu config / service / rules ) that comes with a specific plugin pack

as far as I can see on my own config, there is no “generic” swicth and I can’t see it in my available pack.

so : what host template are you using for your generic switch (its exact name), or did you make a custom host template?

and also, does your switch answer correctly to SNMP Queries ? (I will assume yes)

if you made a custom host template and have a working autodiscover engine, then, you can clone a generic rule like this one “ Net-Cisco-Standard-SNMP-Traffic-Name “

and rename it “Net-Generic-Standard-SNMP-Traffic-Name-custom“ for example

and change the host template it applies to and try the “scan” in configuration / service / scan to run manually the autodiscover and see if any error appears or if you get your interfaces listed

if your switch has generic snmp IF-MIB, this should work as IF-MIB is a standard that most system, even linux/windows and other appliance usually respect, not just switches.

I may be wrong about autodiscover being a paying license stuff, someone from Centreon will tell if i’m wrong

best regards
