Hi,

I have a problem with my Centreon 23.10.3 (appliance).

If I install Virt-VMWare2-ESX, the corresponding templates doesn’t appear in Templates pull-down list during host configuration, though it appears in the menu Hosts/Templates!

It works for other monitoring connectors like  OS-Windows-SNMP-custom but not for Virt-VMWare2-ESX.

I already updated the system as I saw it solved the problem for another user.

How can I troubleshoot this problem ?

Regards,

Olivier

Hi @olivier_iut

Can you be more specific regarding what you mean by “I install Virt-VMWare2-ESX”?

Hi @omercier

I followed this how to :https://docs.centreon.com/pp/integrations/plugin-packs/procedures/virtualization-vmware2-esx/ :

yum install centreon-plugin-Virtualization-VMWare-daemon

systemctl start centreon_vmware
systemctl enable centreon_vmware

install the VMware ESX connector through the Configuration > Monitoring Connectors Manager menu

This command installs the plugin (the perl script that will perform the checks) not the pack/monitoring connector (that provides the templates and commands.

You have to apply this part of the doc: https://docs.centreon.com/pp/integrations/plugin-packs/procedures/virtualization-vmware2-esx/#pack

I have the error:

[root@supervision ~]# dnf install centreon-pack-virtualization-vmware2-esx
Last metadata expiration check: 3:50:24 ago on Wed 20 Dec 2023 11:50:55 AM CET.
No match for argument: centreon-pack-virtualization-vmware2-esx
Error: Unable to find a match: centreon-pack-virtualization-vmware2-esx

plus i have an online(?) IT100 license.

Ok, then you don’t need to install the system package, but add it directly from “the Configuration > Monitoring Connectors Manager menu.“

that’s what I did:

Then you should find the template in the drop-down list in the host configuration page, unless you have already reached 100 hosts in your configuration?

I have no hosts yet (but Centreon-central). And still no Virt-VMWare2-ESX in the drop-down list in the host configuration page..
