Hello everyone and thank you for your attention,
there is a few issues that i encounter since some time with my dashboard experience in Centreon.
For context, the service i’m having the most problem with is a custom service that returns the 10 users that use the most cpu on one server.
the service uses a script and returns each time 10 metrics with this format *user1*_cpu = 6% ; *user2* …
The problem happens when i want to display this in a graph or any other display tool, because my metrics are dynamic, each time it runs the metrics names change as well (if there is a change in which user uses more cpu).
For some time now my solution was to manually add all the new metrics in the graph until all of the users were covered but a graph with 90 metrics or so is very unstable even if there is only 10 active at a time.
All that i want is to display the 10 users that are returned by my service and the value associated with it but i can’t find a good solution.
I’ve had a few idea on how to solve this problem but i don’t know if they are supported in Centreon.
1. Being able to select metrics dynamically : if i could tell centreon to display the metrics “.*_cpu” in the graph it would solve it but it seems that there is no way to do that in the widget section
2. Being able to display text metrics : I tried to alter my script so i only have 10 static metrics : Top1_cpu ; Top2_cpu, etc.. and provided an other set of metrics Top1_user= *username* , that is linked to the previous metric so you could see which user is the top1 , which is the top2 etc. But it seems that i cannot display any text based metric so i cannot use this set of metrics in a dashboard.
3. Display on another form than with a graph : I didnt found any other way to display my metrics within the dashboards than with a graphic. is there no way to just have a board that display my metrics and their values? i dont really need it to be a graphic with curves but any other widget than “metric graph” only shows if a service/servicegroup/host/hostgroup is up/down critical/ok etc etc..
Also there is not a lot of option for personalisation of the graphs, i couldnt find any possibility to change a curve color, change the label on some of the metrics or change the size that is taken by a widget in the dashboard window.
Am i using the dashboard in a bad way ? Or is what i want to do not the good way to proceed ?
If anyone has ideas that could help me improve even a little bit one of my concerns it would be very helpful!
Thank you very much!
