Modify the duration of the RRD (graph) without loss of data

Hello all,

I want to increase the retention time of RRDs for graphics on services/metrics already deployed.

Over 10k services.

What is the best solution ?

I have tested the Centreon option “regenerated the RRD databases”  but I lost the metrics data history.

Is it possible to do this without losing the existing RRD data ?

Hi,

 

The RRD is created with the retention in parameters. For now, if you want to increase the retention, the only method I know is what you have done, rebuild the RRD with the new retention.

BUT, il you don’t want to loose history, your BDD retention has to be the same as RRD retention, because to rebuild the RRD, centreon use the datas in the BDD.

The problem I exposed here was fixed in a 22.04 release.

Now the regeneration of RRD graphs works correctly.
