Good morning,
I would recommend using groups of resources (service group or host group) to avoid the issue of having to manually add a new resource to all widgets/dashboards.
Any new resource added to a group will be automatically considered in any existing widget configured accordingly.
Would it work for you?
Best,
Dear @rbignotti,
Thank you for your reply, but unfortunately your proposal does not work around the problem.
because
first, it requires creating multitudes of groups that were not mandatory with SQL-Regex syntax searches in "custom views" widgets.
secondly, managing these groups is also "time consuming" since they don't handle automatic syntax searching either.
thirdly, this does not automatically add new host-groups / service-groups anyway unlike the "custom pages" widgets which do. It will then be necessary to select the host-groups and service-groups by the mouse click of checkboxes.
Unfortunately, your proposition just moves the problem to another menu without solving it for the user.
Please, turn on automatic searches with syntax everywhere for everyone. Please stop use static selection by checkbox/listbox/radio-botton.
There is a notable loss of functionality here between the old "custom views" which work well and the new "dashboards" which do not provide satisfaction.
Thanks a lot
PS : I realized the extent of this problem of your abuse of checkboxes in thse new dahboards, when I tested them for a ticket that I opened because of the deleted ghost group services which continue to appear in new pages (Resource status and dashboard)
