Hi,
Currently, in the search bar, if there are some suggested entries, hitting Enter automatically selects the first suggested entry. If you don’t want to select this entry, you must hit Escape before hitting Enter (or entering a space character).
I’d prefer having to use the down arrow key to select the first entry, and so, hitting Enter would search for what’s effectively in the search bar, not he first suggested entry.
I understand this is quite a matter of personal preferences. To illustrate that both behaviors exist:
- the Chrome address bar behave like the current behavior in Centreon: it automatically selects the first suggested entry
- the search bar in the Google home page behaves the right way, : it goes for what’s effectively written in the input field.
In many cases, the suggested entry that the user wants will not be the first, so the user will have to use the down arrow key. It appears to me that it’s more consistent to always have to use the arrow keys to select one of the suggested entry, even in the case that’s the first one that you want to select.
Not a big deal anyway, but I wonder what do you guys think about the current behavior?
