what is the msg with clapi ? 

clapi / rest api works well, so if there is a way to replicate what the gui does , its fine for me.

AWIE only do api request :-)

have you enough space in awie temp dir on your server ? 

I can see 200 code when exporting from ui in the apache log, no errors elsewhere. 
This is the only file I can find. I have space on the machine.

how many hosts, services, template, command have you ?

Just test with a sample and watch if your file is OK 

 
you can do it with file export with clapi with no problem.
