Hi everyone,

I’m fairly new to Centreon and exploring how to monitor SAP systems in our company’s environment. We’re running a few SAP instances, and I’d like to set up proper monitoring to track performance and uptime. I’ve read a bit about SNMP and plugins, but I’m not sure what’s the best approach when it comes to SAP specifically.

Does Centreon offer any plugin packs or templates for SAP monitoring? Or would I need to set up custom checks?

Also, I recently completed an SAP ABAP training in Chennai, and I’m still learning how all the backend components tie together with monitoring tools. If anyone here has experience integrating Centreon with SAP systems especially ABAP-based environments I’d love to hear your suggestions.

Any basic guidance or documentation links would be very helpful. Thanks in advance to everyone here for sharing your knowledge!

Best regards,
Megancharlotte

Hello :)

I don't know specifically what SAP equipment you have, but in our monitoring connector documentation there is a SAP HANA monitoring connector, which could maybe meet your requirements?

If you're sure your equipment can be queried by SNMP, you can use SNMP collections (see this tutorial) to query the specific OIDs you've identified on your SAP equipment.

You can also submit in the Idea section of The Watch an idea for the development of an SAP SNMP monitoring connector, providing as much detail as possible about your equipment and your monitoring needs. This idea could then be voted on by the community, enabling us to implement its development especially if it gets enough votes.

Kind regards
