Removing the ability to create services linked to multiple hosts or host groupsFeature Sunset

Dear users, In order to simplify and improve the user experience of our software, we plan to remove two features in an upcoming major update:Creating services linked to multiple hosts. Creating services by host group.We understand that these features may still be used by some of you, but we believe they can be replaced by the use of templates. We are making this decision to optimize the software and make it more intuitive. Proposal of solutions when updating the Centreon platform Services linked to multiple hostsCreating a service linked to multiple hosts allows you to have an identical configuration of this service for multiple hosts.This service can be transformed into a service template. VMWare 8 connector : First stone

Hello everyone, As part of our project to update our dedicated VMware connectors, we are deploying the foundation of the VMware 8 ESX monitoring connector via REST API this month. This connector is a lightweight version, as it only includes CPU, memory, power and host discovery modes. We have already planned to enhance this connector in the coming months with new modes. It is marked as experimental because, at this stage, we still need to verify its functionality with numerous metrics (as may be the case in certain production environments). Feel free to share your feedback on this and more generally on this connector here. We will keep you informed of progress on this subject.

About Linux SNMP version 3

Dear Watchers,It had been asked for a while, we released it last December: a SNMP version 3 template is provided for Linux in our Monitoring Connectors. The documentation can be found there.I invite you to tell us here as a reply to this post, if you have feedback to give us about it.Does it fit your needs? Is it easy enough to use? Is the documentation clear?Any feedback will be great!Once we judge that the template is satisfying enough given your feedback, we’ll merge it into the Linux SNMP monitoring connector and apply the same method with other connectors.

Legacy MAP Retirement [Updated 09/30/24]

SNClient+ : short review

Hello,I tried SNclient+ and I will share what I found with this short review.My thirst thought is that SNClient+ is mainly for Windows host.s Why ? Because I failed to installed it from Debian 5 to Debian 11 included. The Debian packages are broken on all theses releases, you can’t install it, it will throw an error.The answer from the team was if it’s not working you can try to recompile it from sources.It more sunny on the RedHat side because the RPM is valid (and tested) on RedHat 7 and 9 (I didn't test it on RH8).Also, only a unit for Systemd is included, no Init script.On the Windows side, it’s unclear on which version we could run it.I successfully run it on Windows 2019 but the SNClient+ team don’t give a list of supported OS :https://github.com/ConSol-Monitoring/snclient/issues/48 I tried some check with «check_nrpe» as I’m used to with NSClient++.Some are identical, like theses :$ /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H 10.128.10.7 -c check_drivesize -a Drive=C: ShowAll MinWar

Retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams

Hello everyone,Some of you have already seen the information and have already passed it on to us (thanks again for your vigilance and your feedback). Microsoft made this announcement at the beginning of July:Starting August 15th, 2024 we will be removing the Office 365 connectors feature from Microsoft Teams. What Monitoring Connectors need a SNMP version 3 template?

Dear Watchers,As I said here, we experimented a new SNMP version 3 template for Linux.We are planning to add similar SNMP version 3 templates to other monitoring connectors to make it easier to use SNMP v3 (I agree it's not ideal to use the $_SERVICEEXTRAOPTION$ macro for that) in more contexts.What I'm proposing you here is to answer to my post by giving:The name of the monitoring connector or the host template you'd like to see support SNMP v3 macros. The desired security levels (noAuthNoPriv, authNoPriv, authPriv).Then we'll prioritize the posts that will receive the highest number of "thumbs up" to deliver new templates in the monitoring connectors.Can’t wait for your suggestions!PS: If what you want is a template that do not exist yet as a monitoring connector, then please use the ideas section!PPS: Please post only one suggestion per post 🙏🏻

[UPDATED] Deprecated views will be retired [in an upcoming] major versionProduct updates

[UPDATE AS OF 02/12/2024]As we are progressing towards next major release and still receiving feedback for required features in Resource Status we have decided to take a step back and NOT retire deprecated views in the Spring 24 version.We are planning the Fall version and will prioritize those enhancements in order to be in a position to then retire those views.Stay tuned and continue sending your valuable feedback![END OF UPDATE] It had been announced a long time ago that the plan was to remove the legacy host and services views as those are now replaced with Resource Status. Retention des graph' forcé à 180 jours

Bonjour, J’ai un bug étrange, je souhaite conserver les graph’ sur une durée d’au moins 1 an pour l’ensemble des sondes présentes sur Centreon. Pour ça j’ai bien spécifié 365 jours initialement dans les options sauf que dans la pratique ça ne fonctionne pas ou pas longtemps.En regardant quelques post sur le forum j’ai vu qu’il fallait reconstruire la BDD RRD, ça ok. Sauf que ça marche pendant la reconstruction mais pas une fois fini. Exemple 1 : Avant reconstruction Exemple 2 : Pendant la reconstruction Exemple 3 : Après reconstruction Comme on peu le voir dans l’exemple 2, la date de départ des premières infos est bonne. J’ai mis en place ce Centreon en Juillet dernier. Mais une fois fini ça revient a 180 jours d’affichage.J’ai tout mis à jour, j’étais en 23.04.06 (Debian 11) avant, après 23.04.16 et même problème. Puis les captures ont été faite sur le 23.10.10, et c’est pareil. J’ai rechangé la valeur de rétention en passant de 365 à 380 dans tous les champs ou c’était à 365 pour êt

BUG 24.10: Inherited command macros always overwritten on new host/host template

Github issue: https://github.com/centreon/centreon/issues/8042 Since 24.10.8 (could also have been introduced in earlier versions) all inherited command macros are directly written on the host with an empty value when a new host is added (only on add, does not happen on update host).This also happens on new Host Templates.Problematic situations that can happen due to this bug:Imagine creating a new host based on template T1, somewhere in the template tree is a command which declares macro $_HOSTOPTIONS$. At the moment the template T1 has no value for the macro defined. The new host gets created and the macro is wrongly written on the host with an empty value. Now I set a macro value for $_HOSTOPTIONS$ on the template T1. The recently created host will never inherit the value from the template due to the directly written empty value on the host itself.So basically the main problem here is, that the macro value inheritance gets impaired.Screenshots for better understanding:Before ADD (no

Hello can anyone please tell me how can i manage my data? my partitions always get full and i keep increase disk space or doing log rotation etc I’ve configured log rotation for these files in /var/log/centreon-broker/ and /var/log/centreon-engine/But I don’t know how to fix the /var/lib/centreon/metrics directory, its gotten so large in few days? i have so far 144 hosts and about 3k services:I’m not sure what to do

What user for CLAPI command

I’m facing regular issues with using the CLAPI centreon command.Especially in terms of permissions. I face issues regarding permissions on log files or php files, sometimes it’s files created that are blocking gorgone. I was wondering if there was a clear recommendation in terms of what is required in terms of permissions for the execution of a CLAPI centreon command.Is itas root as apache (i’m running in RHEL 9) as centreon (or other centreon linked user like centreon-engine) as a custom user but with centreon as a secondary group  Would someone that faced similar issues please guide me ?Thank you so much

Notification by email not working

Hello,I’m in the process to upgrade/mirgrate from 21.04 to 24.10.Everything is “almost” working, I’m actually working on the mail notification.So I follow the doc here : https://docs.centreon.com/docs/administration/postfix/Everything is working as expected, I can sent mail using the test commandecho "Test" | mail -s "Test" user@isp.comBut on Centreon, I do not receive any notification.The Centreon server didn’t even try to sent something (no logs on my SMTP server).So something seems misconfigured on the server, I have doubt on the postfix service itself, as the status is active (exited) but on the doc it is active (running). Also, I have doubt on the command as maybe something changed during the 21.04 → 24.10 upgrade that didn’t update correctly. Error seems the same as Thanks a lot !

Bad Macro name with API v1 and get macro on service

Hello,We’ve encountered a recurring issue when querying service macros via the Rest API (v1) (getmacro action). NRPE VEEAM JOBS-STATUS

Hi, I'm trying to configure VEEAM job supervision with NSClient++ / NRPE3, I can't get out of it because I keep getting the “execute command failed” error.I've already tried logging my command directly from my Poller, on my customer's site where the VEEAM B&R is installed. Bluemind SSH issue

🇬🇧Hello,I’m having an issue with the Bluemind plugin. I’ve tried different “ssh backend” options, but I keep getting errors.With sshcli:UNKNOWN: sshcli backend cannot use ssh password. please use backend plink or libsshAnyway, I mostly use service accounts, so I tried libssh :UNKNOWN: command execution error [exit code: 7]Or if the mode is set to core instead of xmpp :UNKNOWN: Cannot serialize statefile '/var/lib/centreon/centplugins/bluemind_core_***.***.***.***_xxxxxxxxxxxx....'Never mind, I tried plink:UNKNOWN: Command error: Can't exec "plink": Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type at /usr/lib/centreon/plugins//centreon_bluemind_ssh.pl line 4059. I tested the service account on the Bluemind VM and got a proper response with the curl command specified in the documentation, but nothing works.I just upgraded Centreon to version 24.10 today after upgrading Debian from 11 to 12.
