VMWare 8 connector : First stone

Hello everyone, As part of our project to update our dedicated VMware connectors, we are deploying the foundation of the VMware 8 ESX monitoring connector via REST API this month. This connector is a lightweight version, as it only includes CPU, memory, power and host discovery modes. We have already planned to enhance this connector in the coming months with new modes. It is marked as experimental because, at this stage, we still need to verify its functionality with numerous metrics (as may be the case in certain production environments). Feel free to share your feedback on this and more generally on this connector here. We will keep you informed of progress on this subject.

BBDO2 Deprecation with Centreon 25.10 ReleaseBBDO2

About Linux SNMP version 3

Dear Watchers,It had been asked for a while, we released it last December: a SNMP version 3 template is provided for Linux in our Monitoring Connectors. The documentation can be found there.I invite you to tell us here as a reply to this post, if you have feedback to give us about it.Does it fit your needs? Is it easy enough to use? Is the documentation clear?Any feedback will be great!Once we judge that the template is satisfying enough given your feedback, we’ll merge it into the Linux SNMP monitoring connector and apply the same method with other connectors.

Legacy MAP Retirement [Updated 09/30/24]

SNClient+ : short review

Hello,I tried SNclient+ and I will share what I found with this short review.My thirst thought is that SNClient+ is mainly for Windows host.s Why ? Because I failed to installed it from Debian 5 to Debian 11 included. The Debian packages are broken on all theses releases, you can’t install it, it will throw an error.The answer from the team was if it’s not working you can try to recompile it from sources.It more sunny on the RedHat side because the RPM is valid (and tested) on RedHat 7 and 9 (I didn't test it on RH8).Also, only a unit for Systemd is included, no Init script.On the Windows side, it’s unclear on which version we could run it.I successfully run it on Windows 2019 but the SNClient+ team don’t give a list of supported OS :https://github.com/ConSol-Monitoring/snclient/issues/48 I tried some check with «check_nrpe» as I’m used to with NSClient++.Some are identical, like theses :$ /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H 10.128.10.7 -c check_drivesize -a Drive=C: ShowAll MinWar

Retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams

Hello everyone,Some of you have already seen the information and have already passed it on to us (thanks again for your vigilance and your feedback). Microsoft made this announcement at the beginning of July:Starting August 15th, 2024 we will be removing the Office 365 connectors feature from Microsoft Teams. What Monitoring Connectors need a SNMP version 3 template?

Dear Watchers,As I said here, we experimented a new SNMP version 3 template for Linux.We are planning to add similar SNMP version 3 templates to other monitoring connectors to make it easier to use SNMP v3 (I agree it's not ideal to use the $_SERVICEEXTRAOPTION$ macro for that) in more contexts.What I'm proposing you here is to answer to my post by giving:The name of the monitoring connector or the host template you'd like to see support SNMP v3 macros. The desired security levels (noAuthNoPriv, authNoPriv, authPriv).Then we'll prioritize the posts that will receive the highest number of "thumbs up" to deliver new templates in the monitoring connectors.Can’t wait for your suggestions!PS: If what you want is a template that do not exist yet as a monitoring connector, then please use the ideas section!PPS: Please post only one suggestion per post 🙏🏻

[UPDATED] Deprecated views will be retired [in an upcoming] major versionProduct updates

[UPDATE AS OF 02/12/2024]As we are progressing towards next major release and still receiving feedback for required features in Resource Status we have decided to take a step back and NOT retire deprecated views in the Spring 24 version.We are planning the Fall version and will prioritize those enhancements in order to be in a position to then retire those views.Stay tuned and continue sending your valuable feedback![END OF UPDATE] It had been announced a long time ago that the plan was to remove the legacy host and services views as those are now replaced with Resource Status. Important change on 21.10 package repository

As you probably already know, Centreon 21.10 is not a supported version anymore (more information here).As a consequence, the RPM package repository for this version has been archived: it moved from https://packages.centreon.com/rpm-standard/21.10 to https://archives.centreon.com/standard/21.10.If your platform is still running 21.10 and you need to update it, please update your YUM or DNF repository configuration to handle this change.

Vulnerabilities in Curl CVE-2023-38545 CVE-2023-38546

As you might have heard, 2 vulnerabilities were disclosed on Curl last week.These issues have been undisclosed as CVE-2023-38545 and CVE-2023-38546.These vulnerabilities might have impacts on specific use cases, with specific misconfiguration.Default installation and default use cases should not be impacted.However, we recommend that you update your local package (on pollers and centrals) up to versions 7.69.x or 8.4, depending on your installation.

How to monitor disk status on a Qnap NAS

Hello,For the past few days, I've been looking into using Centreon to monitor my IT infrastructure.I installed Centreon 24.10.7 on a VM, then a few hosts and services.My Windows servers are being monitored, butI'm struggling with how to view the status of the disks in a Qnap NAS.I'm monitoring the volumes, but I haven't figured out where to tell Centreon how to check the NAS disks to be notified if they're faulty.Thank you for your help.Eric

Memory and CPU usage of a Cisco CBS350

Hi everyone,I’m encountering an error with the centreon_cisco plugin while trying to monitor memory usage on a Cisco CBS350 switch (firmware version 3.4.0.17): UNKNOWN: Cannot find memory informationsHas anyone experienced this issue before? If so, are there known workarounds to retrieve memory metrics?Details: The plugin fails to fetch memory data via SNMP. A custom script workaround might require privilege level 15 (full admin access), which is restrictive. Questions: Is there a specific OID for memory monitoring on CBS350 switches running firmware 3.4.0.17? Are there alternative methods to monitor memory without requiring privilege level 15? Any insights, scripts, or configuration tips would be greatly appreciated!Thanks

Monitor web page return code

Hi,I am trying to add a check on a web page to ensure it is up and running. I tried with the HTTP plugin with the HTTP-Response-Time service template. By default it will fail only if the web server is not responding but it will be OK even with a 404 error for exemple. So I guess I have to use the option --critical-status to check that return code is 200. This gave me the following command/usr/lib/centreon/plugins//centreon_protocol_http.pl--plugin=apps::protocols::http::plugin--mode=response--hostname=myhostname--proto='https'--port='443'--urlpath=''--warning=''--critical=''--http-peer-addr='my_web_page_url'--critical-status='%{http_code} != 200'However when the web page URL returns a status different from 200 the test is still OK.I guess I should use a different syntax for the --critical-status parameter? But all the exemples I found refers to this syntax.I might have to use a different plugin or template to do what I seek? But I could not find which one then.Your help or comments are

Centreon DB partitioning - tables not partitioned

Hi,One of our remote server centreon_storage tables are not partitioned properly. all tables below.My question is, what is the best approach to fix the issue?Should I try to use this on the docs? https://docs.centreon.com/docs/administration/database-partitioning/Or Do I need to re-create the centreon_storage DB?Also noticed that data_bin table is already partitioned​ into one.​​​​​​-rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 479606079488 May 20 15:41 data_bin#P#pmax.ibd Thank you in advance for the suggestions.

How to use SNMPv3 monitoring plugins in Centreon Open Source (without license)

Hi everyone,I'm using the open source version of Centreon (no license, no commercial subscription) and I would like to monitor equipment like Cisco switches, HP servers, UPS, PDUs, etc. using SNMPv3.I know that with a commercial license, I could simply use the Monitoring Connector Manager to install packs like network-cisco-standard-snmpv3, but in the open source version, only basic modules are available and the rest require a license.That said, I was able to install centreon-pack-operatingsystems-linux-snmpv3 via APT, and it works perfectly for Linux hosts using SNMPv3. So I assume it's technically possible to use SNMPv3 monitoring for other devices as well, but manually, without licensed packs.I’ve already cloned the official centreon-plugins GitHub repo and I can run checks via CLI successfully. How should I configure them properly in the Centreon web interface (host templates, service templates)?This is part of a large-scale migration from SNMPv2 to SNMPv3 across many existing devi

Confused About Monitoring Connectors, Plugins, GitHub Repo & Licensing

Hey everyone,I’m setting up Centreon and I’ve hit a point where I’m confused about how Monitoring Connectors, plugins, and the GitHub plugin repo all relate — especially when it comes to licensing and offline environments.Here’s my current situation and questions: After a fresh install of Centreon, I could install some Monitoring Connectors (I think these are the default/free ones). But I also see many others greyed out — I assume those require a license? I understand that Monitoring Connectors (or Plugin Packs?) are templates that help configure services, but I’m not sure how they relate to the actual plugin scripts (like those in /usr/lib/centreon/plugins/). I also don’t really get the relationship with the GitHub repo (https://github.com/centreon/centreon-plugins). Can I just clone that repo and use it without a license? if I clone it will i be able to use all plugins and won’t need to install connectors/packs etc? If I do clone the GitHub repo, should I clone it on the Centra

Bonjour à TOUS.Nous avons besoin de votre aide et de votre expertise.Nous avons pour projet de rapprocher plusieurs serveurs centreon afin de regrouper les informations.Après plusieurs tentatives infructueuses, je n’arrive qu’a exporter les données de mon centreon A vers mon centreon B ou inversement mais les données qui sont exporter ne sont plus accessible sur le centreon initiale.
