About Linux SNMP version 3

Dear Watchers,It had been asked for a while, we released it last December: a SNMP version 3 template is provided for Linux in our Monitoring Connectors. The documentation can be found there.I invite you to tell us here as a reply to this post, if you have feedback to give us about it.Does it fit your needs? Is it easy enough to use? Is the documentation clear?Any feedback will be great!Once we judge that the template is satisfying enough given your feedback, we’ll merge it into the Linux SNMP monitoring connector and apply the same method with other connectors.

Legacy MAP Retirement [Updated 09/30/24]

SNClient+ : short review

Hello,I tried SNclient+ and I will share what I found with this short review.My thirst thought is that SNClient+ is mainly for Windows host.s Why ? Because I failed to installed it from Debian 5 to Debian 11 included. The Debian packages are broken on all theses releases, you can’t install it, it will throw an error.The answer from the team was if it’s not working you can try to recompile it from sources.It more sunny on the RedHat side because the RPM is valid (and tested) on RedHat 7 and 9 (I didn't test it on RH8).Also, only a unit for Systemd is included, no Init script.On the Windows side, it’s unclear on which version we could run it.I successfully run it on Windows 2019 but the SNClient+ team don’t give a list of supported OS :https://github.com/ConSol-Monitoring/snclient/issues/48 I tried some check with «check_nrpe» as I’m used to with NSClient++.Some are identical, like theses :$ /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H 10.128.10.7 -c check_drivesize -a Drive=C: ShowAll MinWar

Retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams

Hello everyone,Some of you have already seen the information and have already passed it on to us (thanks again for your vigilance and your feedback). Microsoft made this announcement at the beginning of July:Starting August 15th, 2024 we will be removing the Office 365 connectors feature from Microsoft Teams. We recommend Power Automate workflows as the solution to relay information into and out of Teams in a scalable, flexible, and secure way.We will gradually roll out this change in waves:Wave 1 – effective August 15th, 2024: All new Connector creation will be blocked within all clouds Wave 2 – effective October 1st, 2024: All connectors within all clouds will stop working How will it work on the Centreon side?We have started to address this change and hope to quickly have an updated notification script in beta for users who would be interested in helping us validate it. What Monitoring Connectors need a SNMP version 3 template?

Dear Watchers,As I said here, we experimented a new SNMP version 3 template for Linux.We are planning to add similar SNMP version 3 templates to other monitoring connectors to make it easier to use SNMP v3 (I agree it's not ideal to use the $_SERVICEEXTRAOPTION$ macro for that) in more contexts.What I'm proposing you here is to answer to my post by giving:The name of the monitoring connector or the host template you'd like to see support SNMP v3 macros. The desired security levels (noAuthNoPriv, authNoPriv, authPriv).Then we'll prioritize the posts that will receive the highest number of "thumbs up" to deliver new templates in the monitoring connectors.Can’t wait for your suggestions!PS: If what you want is a template that do not exist yet as a monitoring connector, then please use the ideas section!PPS: Please post only one suggestion per post 🙏🏻

[UPDATED] Deprecated views will be retired [in an upcoming] major versionProduct updates

[UPDATE AS OF 02/12/2024]As we are progressing towards next major release and still receiving feedback for required features in Resource Status we have decided to take a step back and NOT retire deprecated views in the Spring 24 version.We are planning the Fall version and will prioritize those enhancements in order to be in a position to then retire those views.Stay tuned and continue sending your valuable feedback![END OF UPDATE] It had been announced a long time ago that the plan was to remove the legacy host and services views as those are now replaced with Resource Status. Important change on 21.10 package repository

As you probably already know, Centreon 21.10 is not a supported version anymore (more information here).As a consequence, the RPM package repository for this version has been archived: it moved from https://packages.centreon.com/rpm-standard/21.10 to https://archives.centreon.com/standard/21.10.If your platform is still running 21.10 and you need to update it, please update your YUM or DNF repository configuration to handle this change.

Vulnerabilities in Curl CVE-2023-38545 CVE-2023-38546

As you might have heard, 2 vulnerabilities were disclosed on Curl last week.These issues have been undisclosed as CVE-2023-38545 and CVE-2023-38546.These vulnerabilities might have impacts on specific use cases, with specific misconfiguration.Default installation and default use cases should not be impacted.However, we recommend that you update your local package (on pollers and centrals) up to versions 7.69.x or 8.4, depending on your installation.

SNMP Problem monitoring CPU et Memory on Switch Unify

FS 5860 Switch incorrectly reporting CPU 100%

Is anyone out there monitoring an FS (Fiberstore) S5860-20SQ Switch?  I’m using the FS plugin and it’s reporting 100% CPU usage, even though cli on the switch is showing:switch#sh proc cpu 1minSystem Uptime: 143days 06:55:04.7CPU utilization for five seconds: 23.1%; one minute: 16.4%; five minutes: 15.3%I’d really like to get an accurate reading in Centreon to keep an eye on this.Thank in advance for any advice.
