Number of records to display per pageNeeds Votes

Hi,In some part of the UI, when choosing the number of records to display per page, it’s possible to select “all of them”. Like, for example, in the service configuration page : When this number is high, it makes the UI unusable (it timeouts).It shouldn’t be possible to select a value that is impossible to display. In another hand, 100 is too low.Maybe the available choices could be something like : 10,20,30,40,50,100,500,1000,2000,3000,4000,5000 ?

Negation operator in CQLNeeds Votes

Hi,AFAIK, although the new search functionality is based on regex (case insensitive), the use of “!” doesn’t work (Centreon Web 22.10.5).It would be nice to have the possibility to have a negation operator for the search/filter functionality.For example, to be able to get the resources in all host groups except the resources of one particular host group.

Hello,When we are looking at services’s problems we can’t put DT on hosts, only on services.But sometime, we need to DT the host who have failed service (for example because we need to reboot that host). It was possible with the deprecated pages.

It’s very difficult in the web console to search for the opposite of items e.g. I need to know how many hosts are not in hostgroup i.e. they have not been assigned to any groups. As we use these groups to assign ACLs it’s important that they can be picked up so having the option to choose all the hostgroups and then a “not” would allow this.

Additional filter in "Configuration > Pollers" page Centreon administrator/operator. When there are a lot of remote pollers confgured (we have moire than 40) and the configuration for lot of them changed it is very unconvienient to click checkboxes at each one for which Conf changed (let say for 10 out of 40). A checkbox is added in the filter area to display only pollers marked with "Conf Changed" flag. So one can quickly select this checkbox so only the ones for which “Conf changed” are displayed. One can use “Select all” checkbox with one click and export the configuration without clicking one by one going through a long list.

A user/contact with RestAPI access to submit results for passive checks. Centreon administrator/operator. We are using passive checks for which results are sent to Centreon over RestAPI v2. A custom script which communicates with Centreon over RestAPI is using a user account which must have admin rights and which must also be allowed reach Centreon Front-end. When you deselect “Reach Centreon Front-end” option the user will not be permitted to login via RestAPI. Our script is running on remote machines which don’t belong to us. It is not very secure to leave inside our custom script the username and password which can be used to access Centreon front-end. But at the moment we have no choice (I can encode the password while using Powershell for our script but any local admin with some system knowledge can decode it). At least in one of the previous version we could deselect “Reach Centreon Front-end” option but it stopped working. A user can be configured in a way it can submit check results for passive checks over RestAPI v2 but it doesn’t have to be an admin and can be configured to not be allowed to “Reach Centreon Front-end”. So the username and password can be stored in a script and it is uselesss when trying to connect with Centreon Web GUI. Such a user can be assigned a generated token only for RestAPI communication so the token can be stored within our custom script without revealing the password for the user. Also using ACLs such a user could be configured to be allowed to submit check results only for host objects it has access granted in Resource Access.

Hello,When we enable or disable an auto-disco services rule, they are no confirmation pop-up.Or, recently, one of my colleague has enabled inadvertenly all the rules. We have saw this after the evening job when we had several thousands of new services (and a big latency...).Don’t you think it is a good idea to have a confirmation pop-up for enabling/disabling an auto-disco services rule ?

Better managing parentalityNeeds Votes

Hello,Parentality is a good feature (avoiding alerts when the parent host is unavailable). However one drawback is having to link all of the hosts to the same poller. Which is non sense and against best practicesSo we have a good feature that cannot be used. Frustration ! Please vote for the feature as it is always useful to have lesser alerts (less false positive) and to focus on the cause without any annoyance Example : one of your gateways is down, so of course hosts behind it will not respond to Centreon’s ping checks, even if the hosts are up and running. So your monitor is all with red critical alerts, generating annoyance and pollution when you really don’t need it, operators are dealing with false positive while you can’t easily find the root cause

Hi,Persona : administrator, centreon user.Problem to solve :Widgets in customs views or notification mails provide http link to directly reach a « description frame » (1) in the resources status window. Ex :In the same time the display filter hasn’t been reset, so the rest of information displayed (2) have no link with the (1) (or only by chance). It’s bewildering, specially for lambda users.Expected outcome : a tuned display for the 2 frames.Potential solutions : dynamically set the filter to the relevant host according to the service/host in frame (1).Regards.

Resources Status page - Show resource’s parent information instead of resource information when clicking on parentNeeds Votes

Hi,Services have the host they’re linked to as their parent resource. Would be nice if clicking on a host name (ie: in the “Parent” column) would show the host’s information for this host, instead of the service’s information.Currently, if I want to see the host’s alias (which often contains a description of what this host is), I have to also display hosts, find it and click on it. It is not very handy.Moreover, what is missing the most is the mouse-over popups. These popups should also show service’s information or host’s information, according to what resource one is moving the mouse over.I don’t know what other people think but the now (sadly) deprecated Services page was functioning like this and I use to use it a lot everyday.

To filter the original host template and service template for a better usage of the plugin pack Persona : As a Centreon administrator Problem to solve : Actually with the plugin pack, it possible to select the original template. The best practice is to use the -custom template, because if we update the rpm package of plugin pack, all the modification on this original template is erased, because it’s reinstalled. Many Centreon administrator forgot to select the -custom even when you duplicate a -custom template to inherit and personalize it Expected outcome : Impossibility of select the original host or service template, and when you duplicate a -custom host or service template replace the original by the -custom to be compliant with the best practice of the plugin pack usage. Potential solutions : Maybe it’s possible to add a column on database to flag the developer or original host or service template, just to hide them when you open the list of template. About the duplicate process, maybe it’s possible to replace the original template by the -custom at the end of the process of duplication. Regards

Use pagination in LDAP requestsNeeds Votes

Hi,In Active Directory, the default value for maximum number of results is 1000. That implies one must ask for pagination if the request could return more than 1000 results. (with ldapsearch the option is -E pr=1000/noprompt)The Centreon code doesn’t make use of pagination for LDAP request and so, if we let the “Synchronize LDAP on login” option activated, the login of users is stuck a few minutes (between 2 and sometime 5!), which is not something acceptable. Also, if the group that interest us is after the 1000th result then it won’t appear in the form to configure an access group.It’s important to note that when I execute the two requests (users & groups) manually with the ldapsearch command, with pagination, they never take more than a few second to execute although the about 1500 results I get. So maybe it’s not only the no use of pagination that is problematic with Centreon’s LDAP code…To sum it up :Is it possible for Centreon to make use of pagination for LDAP request to support results with more than 1000 records ? If not, is it possible that the user LDAP synchronization doesn’t block the login?

For example allow the change of color of the background, of the tables … from the parameters.To make sure it will work with dark mode, we can force the user to chose colors from both modes or automatically select the opposite/negative color when activating dark mode.

As a user I would like to have the possibility of using name instead of the id for the submit result API: https://docs-api.centreon.com/api/centreon-web/21.10/#tag/Submit/paths/~1monitoring~1hosts~1{host_id}~1services~1{service_id}~1submit/post We cannot industrialize a solution for passive monitoring because we need for each host and each service to know the id.With the name, our customes that used NSCA can simply migrate on the API by using the name of a host and a service just like the NSCA agent. Globally, we can create in the future a bundle for the passive monitoring with the API (like a cron file, and python or perl to script to submit result at regular interval).
